Who We Are
Coach Andy is currently in his 7th year as a Girls Softball coach. As an alum of Syosset HS, he got involved in coaching when he was only in the 10th grade. He coached a variety of soccer teams, basketball, and softball teams which are just a few of the sports that he always been passionate about. Earning a degree in Political Science at American University, he is a commodities trader by day, but recognizes the power and influence he can have with his second job on the field. As part of his philosophy when coaching, it is important for Coach Andy to convey to his team a love for the game and respect for all teammates. He strives to enhance the talents of his players while developing their leadership skills, self-discipline, and work ethic.
Coach Franklin is currently in his 20th year coaching. He believes in using sports to help build the self confidence of the athlete to not only better them on the field, but better them in life. While Coach Franklin has seen plenty of success, he makes sure to teach the value of being a good winner or loser. He knows that the discipline and control that we learn on the field will prepare the kids for success in life. Coach Franklin breeds a family atmosphere and pushes the kids to be better for themselves and for their teammates. He firmly believes that we can do anything that we put our mind to and teaches that philosophy to the kids. Coach Franklin believes in hard work, self discipline, and developing the leaders of tomorrow.
Heather was an All County catcher at Sachem High School. Following high school, she was a member of an East Coast Conference championship team at Hofstra University. She has a master’s degree in Social Work. For the past 5 years, she has been coaching
youth softball at the recreational and travel levels. Heather has a strong belief in building fundamental skills while fostering a love of the game. She is excited to be a part of the Empire organization and to work with this group of girls.
